In 3CX, each status has its own forwarding rules. Set the Available status to send unanswered calls to your TextbackFast number after the ring time you choose.
The numbers behind missed calls
Sources: 411 Locals study; CallRail 2025 survey.
One in five callers who hit voicemail dials your competitor next. A text in seconds keeps them talking to you.Based on the CallRail 2025 survey
Steps
- Sign in to the 3CX Web Client.
- Go to Settings › Call Forwarding.
- Open Available.Set the number of seconds before an unanswered call is forwarded, about 20.
- Under unanswered calls, set forwarding for external calls to External number and enter your TextbackFast number.
- Do the same for busy or not registered, and for the Away and Do Not Disturb statuses if you want after-hours calls to get a text too.
The 3CX Web Client manual covers these Call Forwarding settings, including the no-answer seconds for Available (3CX Web Client manual).

Ring groups and queues
3CX extensions in the Available status do not follow their own forwarding rules for ring group or queue calls. For those, set the ring group or queue Destination if no answer to forward to an outside number, your TextbackFast number. An admin does this in the Admin Console.
Test it
- Call your business number from another phone and let it ring out, or decline the call.
- The caller should get your TextbackFast text within seconds.
- No text?Turn forwarding off, then set it up again carefully. One wrong digit is the most common problem.
